Even with nearly 1,000 guests in attendance, one outfit from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s lavish wedding has managed to steal the spotlight—and it’s dividing fans.
The couple exchanged vows on July 3 during an extravagant celebration at Madison Square Garden, where celebrities, athletes, friends and family gathered for one of the year’s most talked-about weddings. While many details of the private event remain closely guarded, one guest’s fashion choice has unexpectedly become a hot topic online.
Tori Evans, one of Swift’s longtime backup dancers, drew attention after posting a behind-the-scenes video of herself preparing for the wedding with her husband, TJ Shaw.

Shared by the fan account The Taylor Swift Updates (@theTSupdates) on X, the clip begins with Evans wearing a white bathrobe and under-eye patches before transitioning to the couple dressed for the celebration.
While Shaw opted for a classic black tuxedo, Evans appeared in a sleek white silk dress—a color traditionally reserved for the bride at many weddings.
That was enough to ignite a fierce debate among Swift fans.
Many commenters questioned the wardrobe choice, with one writing, “She looks like the bride. I would have kicked her out.”
Another added, “Why on earth would she wear that of all things??? So odd.”
A third commenter went even further, saying, “If I were Taylor, she would never work for me again.”
Not everyone agreed with the criticism, however.
Several fans defended Evans, arguing that wedding etiquette varies from couple to couple and that Swift herself may not have minded the outfit.

“Guys you also have to understand some brides don’t care like that lol,” one supporter commented. “I wouldn’t care 1% if someone wore that to my wedding. Everyone is different and Taylor prob told them she doesn’t care. I doubt she did it with zero knowledge.”
Another fan pointed to the sheer size of the celebration, writing, “I love it! There was over a thousand people there—nobody was outshining Taylor and nobody was mistaking Tori’s dress for a wedding dress.”
Evans has been part of Swift’s inner performance circle for years. She danced throughout the singer’s record-breaking Eras Tour, which ran from March 2023 through December 2024, and has also appeared in several of Swift’s music videos, including “Karma,” “The Fate of Ophelia,” and “Opalite.”

Outside of her work with Swift, Evans has built an impressive résumé performing alongside major stars including Beyoncé, Ricky Martin, Cardi B, and Bad Bunny.
While Swift has not commented on the online discussion, the differing reactions highlight how even the smallest details from her closely guarded wedding continue to spark passionate debate among fans.
