Jelly Roll And Bunnie Xo Quietly Finalize Their Divorce With One Stunning Rule That Changes Everything

Country star Jelly Roll and media personality Bunnie Xo have officially settled their divorce, bringing an end to nearly a decade of marriage. While many details of the agreement will remain private, court documents indicate the former couple reached a settlement earlier this month that covers the division of their shared assets and includes an agreement that neither party will publicly criticize the other.

One of the most notable terms of the settlement is a mutual non-disparagement clause. Under this provision, both Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo have agreed not to make negative public comments about one another. Such clauses are common in high-profile divorces, particularly when both individuals have active public careers and significant media attention.

According to reports, Bunnie will receive a one-time lump-sum payment as part of the agreement. The couple will also divide several jointly owned assets, including homes, vehicles, an aircraft, and various intellectual property rights. Specific financial figures were not disclosed, as much of the settlement remains confidential.

Jelly Roll, whose legal name is Jason DeFord, filed for divorce in Williamson County, Tennessee, on May 18, 2026. In the filing, he cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for ending the marriage, stating that the couple was no longer able to live together successfully as husband and wife. The filing listed May 9, 2026, as their date of separation.

The divorce came just months before what would have been the couple’s 10th wedding anniversary. Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo, born Alisa DeFord, married in August 2016 after meeting the previous year. Over the course of their relationship, Bunnie became one of Jelly Roll’s strongest public supporters, frequently accompanying him to award shows, concerts, and major career milestones as his popularity grew in country music.

During the divorce proceedings, both emphasized that the separation was not caused by infidelity. Bunnie addressed the situation in an episode of her Dumb Blonde Podcast, explaining that they had struggled with handling disagreements throughout their marriage. She recalled a major argument around Mother’s Day that ultimately led to the divorce filing, although she admitted she had encouraged Jelly Roll to file in the heat of the moment and later regretted saying it.

She also revealed that the emotional and physical strain of their in vitro fertilization (IVF) journey had placed additional pressure on their relationship. Despite ending their marriage, Bunnie stated that they still planned to continue with their shared goal of having a child together, reflecting the unique nature of their ongoing relationship.

Jelly Roll echoed many of Bunnie’s comments while speaking to fans during a concert shortly after news of the divorce became public. He told the audience that “nobody cheated on nobody” and referred to Bunnie as his “best friend” for life, reinforcing the message that their separation was intended to remain respectful.

In the weeks following the announcement, both moved forward with separate lives. Fans noticed Jelly Roll had stopped wearing his wedding ring and removed many photos featuring Bunnie from his social media accounts. Bunnie also shared posts about healing and personal growth before later revealing she had begun spending time with reality television personality Dylan Wolf. She has publicly stated that Jelly Roll had no issue with her moving on.

Meanwhile, Jelly Roll has continued focusing on his music career and personal health. Over the past several years, he has spoken openly about overcoming addiction, reconnecting with his Christian faith, and losing nearly 300 pounds. He has often credited Bunnie with supporting him through many of those life-changing experiences.

Although their marriage has ended, both Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo have consistently expressed appreciation for one another throughout the process. Their settlement—and particularly the agreement to avoid publicly attacking each other—suggests they are aiming to move forward while maintaining mutual respect despite their divorce.
