Paige DeSorbo is questioning the fairness of *Dancing With the Stars* after her friend Ciara Miller was eliminated from the competition, with the reality star bluntly accusing the show of being “rigged.” DeSorbo and fellow *Summer House* alum Hannah Berner discussed Miller’s departure on their *Giggly Squad* podcast, raising concerns about the voting process and the factors that may influence the results.
During the October 9 episode, DeSorbo did not hold back when discussing Miller’s elimination. “I knew that was a f*** ass show,” she said, expressing her frustration with the competition’s outcome. Her comments reflected her belief that Miller deserved to remain in the running, although neither she nor Berner presented evidence that the voting had actually been manipulated.
Berner was more cautious about directly accusing the show of rigging its results, but she questioned how much viewers could know about the process. She pointed to the lack of publicly available information about the voting algorithm and the show’s decision not to reveal which contestants made up the bottom three.

“I don’t know if it’s rigged,” Berner explained, while noting that the limited transparency made it difficult to understand how the results were determined.
She also argued that contestants do not compete under entirely identical circumstances. Different celebrities perform different dance styles, while professional partners bring varying levels of popularity and experience. In her view, these factors complicate comparisons between performances and may influence how audiences vote.
Berner further suggested that gender bias could play a role in the competition. Although she acknowledged that she does not regularly watch the other dancers and therefore had limited grounds for comparing them, she remained convinced that Miller deserved a better outcome.
Miller, 30, and her professional dance partner, Brandon Armstrong, were eliminated during the October 6 episode, which celebrated Mariah Carey’s music. The pair performed a jazz routine and received 21 out of 30 points from the judges, but their score and audience support were ultimately insufficient to keep them in the competition. They finished among the bottom three before their elimination was announced.
DeSorbo also questioned the production team’s decision to let Miller leave, arguing that her presence could have benefited the show. “If I’m a producer on that show, I’m like, ‘Hey, maybe we keep the really hot girl. Maybe this is what the fans want to see,’” she said.
For DeSorbo, Miller’s departure was particularly frustrating because she believed her friend had been improving throughout the competition. Berner shared that assessment, praising Miller’s performances and expressing disappointment that her journey had ended when it did.
“She did f***ing amazing, and she was only getting better,” Berner said, before joking that she hoped Miller would now take some time to rest.
Despite their strong reactions, the pair’s comments remain suspicions and opinions rather than proof of wrongdoing. Their discussion has nevertheless drawn attention to a familiar debate surrounding reality competition shows: how judges’ scores, audience votes and undisclosed voting procedures combine to determine who stays and who goes home.
