Viewers of Britain’s Got Talent were left confused during Saturday night’s final semi-final after noticing that fan-favorite duo Lucciano and his grandfather Frankie were missing from the line-up, despite receiving four yeses during their audition.

ITV confirmed that the final semi-final would feature acts including The Hawkstone Farmers Choir, Celestial, Baron and Vesper, Jake Banfield, James Miller, Juan Carlos, Mr. Cherry, and SOS. However, many fans quickly questioned why Lucciano and Frankie — whose emotional audition captured huge attention online — had not been selected to continue in the competition.

During their original audition, Lucciano shared that his love for music began while singing alongside his grandfather in care homes during school holidays. The touching moment became even more memorable when he invited Frankie onto the stage to perform “History” by One Direction together, earning a standing ovation from both the judges and audience.
Soon after the semi-final line-up was announced, social media filled with reactions from disappointed viewers. Many expressed surprise that the beloved grandfather-and-grandson pair had not secured a spot, with fans repeatedly asking what had happened to the duo and why they were absent from the live shows.

Following the announcement, Lucciano and Frankie addressed supporters through a heartfelt statement shared on Instagram alongside a photo from their audition. In the message, they reflected on receiving four yeses from the judges and the overwhelming response their audition received online, which reportedly generated more than 50 million views across social media platforms.
Although disappointed not to advance, the pair described the experience as unforgettable and thanked fans for their love, encouragement, shares, and support throughout the journey. Lucciano also called surprising his grandfather on stage a magical moment and said performing in front of Simon Cowell had been a dream come true.

The duo also expressed gratitude to the production team, hosts Ant & Dec, and everyone involved with the show for making the experience so special. Ending their message on a hopeful note, they teased that more could still be ahead for them and encouraged fans to “stay tuned.”
The grand finale of Britain’s Got Talent is set to air next Saturday, May 30, where this year’s winner will receive £250,000 and a coveted performance spot at the Royal Variety Performance. Last year’s champion was magician Harry Moulding.
