Lainey Wilson is adding another acting credit to her growing résumé, and this time she is stepping into the world of sitcom comedy.
The country star will appear in Season 2 of Netflix’s hit comedy Leanne, giving fans their first look at her new character in an official preview ahead of the upcoming season.

Wilson’s appearance in Leanne was first revealed earlier this summer, when it was announced that the singer would join the cast for the show’s second season.

Created by comedian Leanne Morgan alongside Susan McMartin and Chuck Lorre, Leanne premiered on Netflix in July 2025 and quickly became a hit. Following its debut, the series reached the global Top 10 among English-language shows.
The Emmy-nominated sitcom centers on Morgan’s character, whose life is thrown into turmoil after her husband of 33 years unexpectedly leaves her for another woman.
After the success of Season 1, Netflix renewed the series for a second season.
Wilson Plays Leanne’s Cousin
The first Season 2 trailer gives viewers a glimpse at what is ahead for Leanne as she approaches 60, returns to the dating scene and adjusts to having her elderly parents move in with her.

The country singer will appear in Episode 209 as Jessie, Leanne’s cousin. In a newly released Netflix clip, Jessie visits Leanne after ending her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Mike.
Looking for emotional support, Jessie turns to her cousin for a shoulder to cry on and the kind of motherly advice she needs while dealing with the breakup.
It is not yet known how many episodes Wilson will appear in or how significant Jessie’s role will be throughout the season.
From Yellowstone To Sitcom Comedy
Wilson has steadily expanded her career beyond country music in recent years.
She made her acting debut in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone, where she played musician Abby. She later landed a role in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Reminders of Him.
Her appearance on Leanne marks another step in that transition, but it is also her first major move into comedy.
The new preview has already generated plenty of excitement among fans, with viewers reacting enthusiastically to Wilson’s sitcom debut.
