Jeremy Clarkson has finally reacted after the choir he helped assemble made history by winning the latest season of Britain’s Got Talent.

The Hawkstone Farmers’ Choir became the first choir ever to win the ITV competition during Saturday night’s emotional final on May 30, stunning viewers and judges alike.

Clarkson, best known for Clarkson’s Farm, appeared visibly overwhelmed during the live broadcast. Cameras captured the television personality wiping away tears and applauding proudly as the choir delivered their final performance.

After the group’s victory was announced, Clarkson shared his thoughts in a video posted to judge Simon Cowell’s Instagram account.

“That was unbelievable, wasn’t it?” Clarkson said. “I was genuinely nervous the whole time. Someone at the door even told me they weren’t sure the choir was going to win because the odds were drifting, and I thought, ‘No way.’”

He continued by praising the dedication shown by the singers throughout the competition.

“These people worked incredibly hard for this,” Clarkson added. “It’s honestly the best thing ever. Simon, thank you for giving them this opportunity.”

Cowell responded warmly, agreeing that the choir deserved the victory.

“You’ve heard it from Jeremy, and I completely agree,” Cowell said. “They were fantastic winners and the final was brilliant overall. Thank you to everybody who watched.”

Following the historic result, choir member Katryna Shell spoke emotionally to hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly about what the moment meant to farming communities across the country.

“We’re officially the first choir to win Britain’s Got Talent,” she said proudly.

She then dedicated the win to farmers and people struggling with mental health challenges.

“This is for every farmer out there and for anybody going through a difficult time,” she explained. “It shouldn’t be a taboo subject anymore. If you’re not OK, speak up. This victory is for the farmers.”

As winners of the competition, the choir received the £250,000 grand prize along with the opportunity to perform at the prestigious Royal Variety Performance later this year.

Ahead of the final, members of the group described Clarkson as their “biggest supporter” and said they could never properly thank him for backing them throughout the journey.

Judge KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olatunji, also praised the choir’s original song, “This Is Home,” admitting he planned to add it to his personal Spotify playlist after hearing the performance.

Meanwhile, Cowell confessed that he initially questioned whether performing an original song during the final was the right decision. However, after hearing the finished performance, he admitted the gamble had completely paid off.

He described the performance as “stunning,” “joyful,” and deeply heartfelt, while fellow judge Amanda Holden was visibly moved to tears.

Elsewhere in the competition, dog act Anastasiia and Salsa finished in third place, while drone performance team Celestial claimed second with a pre-recorded routine featuring illuminated drones recreating memorable moments from past seasons of the show.
