Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are ready to return to public duties together after moving back to the U.K. with their two children. Nearly two months after arriving in Britain, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are preparing for their first official joint appearance since the move, with plans to support several charitable organizations in Nottingham.
A source close to the couple tells that Meghan and Harry are now looking forward to spending more time on their work after focusing on helping Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, adjust to their new life.

Meghan and Harry Plan a Meaningful Return to Nottingham
Harry, 42, and Meghan, 45, are scheduled to visit Nottingham on Thursday, Oct. 15. The trip marks their first official joint outing since returning to the U.K. in August and brings them back to a city where they made their first official appearance together after announcing their engagement in 2017.
“After they first arrived in England, their focus was on establishing a routine and getting the kids settled into school,” the source tells. “Now they’re both excited to focus more on their work and the projects that matter to them.”
During the visit, the couple will reconnect with organizations that have been important to them over the years. Meghan is expected to meet women from London’s Hubb Community Kitchen at a local food bank. She previously worked with the group on Together: Our Community Cookbook, a charity project released in 2018.

Harry and Meghan will also visit the Community Recording Studio, which supports young people affected by violence. Harry has a longstanding connection to the organization and visited it on his own last year.
Their schedule also includes Epic Partners, an organization that supports young people through mentoring and sports.
The visit signals a new chapter for the Sussexes as they balance their charitable commitments with family life in Britain.
Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet Remain Their Top Priority
Harry and Meghan announced plans to return to the U.K. for an extended period on Aug. 19. They arrived in England a week later, ahead of their children’s first day of school.
The family has kept details of its new residence private while maintaining its home in Montecito, California, where the couple settled after stepping back from their roles as working members of the royal family in 2020.
Their children’s transition initially came with challenges. Archie and Lilibet reportedly changed schools just two days into the school year amid security and logistical concerns involving their commute.

At the time, a source close to the couple told that helping the children settle in remained their main priority.
Now, with the children adjusting to their new school, Meghan is reportedly doing well.
“She’s keeping busy, as she always does, and staying in close contact with her friends in Montecito,” the source says. “She has a great attitude about it all. The kids have adjusted well and that’s the most important thing to her.”
The source adds that the couple spend their weekdays working while enjoying family weekends together.
Meghan Markle Returns to Public Life as Harry Resumes Charity Work
Meghan largely stayed out of the spotlight during the first weeks after the move as she focused on helping Archie and Lilibet settle in. More recently, she has been spotted at Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds, and she and Harry have also visited local pubs.
On Oct. 8, Meghan reunited with her friend Malala Yousafzai for afternoon tea at London’s Claridge’s hotel. Three days later, she revealed a sweatshirt she helped design in support of Moms Offering More, a nonprofit that helps mothers and families. The collaboration was timed to International Day of the Girl.

Harry has also returned to public engagements, attending events for causes close to his heart. His recent appearances include the inaugural Invictus Spirit Gala Dinner and Awards and the WellChild Awards. He also traveled to the United States to speak at the Clinton Global Initiative’s annual meeting.
When asked about his return to Britain at the Invictus Spirit Gala, Harry told it was “good to be back on British soil.”
With the children settling into their new routine, both Harry and Meghan appear ready to devote more attention to their charitable work and other projects.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Still Face Tensions With the Royal Family
Despite their progress in Britain, the couple’s relationship with the royal family remains complicated.
The Sussexes and their children reunited with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove in July. The meeting marked the first time Charles had seen Archie and Lilibet in nearly four years.
However, the couple are believed not to have seen the King since their return to Britain, although Harry and his father have reportedly remained in contact by phone.
The rift between Harry and his older brother, Prince William, also remains unresolved. William and Kate Middleton have not been in direct contact with the Sussexes, according to previous reports.
“There’s no movement, especially on William’s side,” a source previously told.
A palace insider also suggested that Harry’s return to Britain has made the family divide more difficult to ignore, bringing tensions back into view.
For now, Meghan and Harry appear focused on establishing their new routine, raising their children and returning to the causes that matter most to them. Whether their move will lead to any progress within the royal family remains unclear.
